This was our version of the ward camp out this year. We were planning on going until it started pouring rain as Jeff was heading home from work. I didn't want the kids to be to disappointed that we didn't end up going camping, so we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in our fireplace for dinner. Max especially enjoyed roasting hot dogs in our living room and wanted to do it again for dinner tonight. Hopefully next year we will have some nicer weather for camping.

What smart and resourceful parents. I've been on the ward campout in the rain... it's no fun.
We just had our ward campout, too! I love your idea of how to make it work at home. Camping in the rain is no fun! (We have had way too much experience with this.)
Cute! We didn't 'get' to go because Tyson had scout camp. But we ended up making s'mores in our fireplace Friday night (I almost smoked us out of our house!)
I'm glad you still had a fun night in spite of the rain. What a great idea!
Who said camping in the rain isn't fun? I have many fond memories of those trips. ;-)
