I took Max with me to the fabric store tonight, just him and me. While we were there, he found this "Fancy Dress" in the Simplicity catalog and fell in love. I don't know what it is with this little boy and sparkly, shiny, frilly dresses!! He just loves them! It is all the more amusing to me because he is ALL BOY in every other way imaginable. All he wanted to do was stare at this dress and kept asking me if we could buy it for him to wear. On the one hand, I wanted to laugh pretty bad, but I was trying to respond in an "appropriate" way. Whatever that is. Anyone have any ideas?
When it was time to leave, he told the dress goodbye and then called out to the employees to leave the book open to the Fancy Dress while we were gone. When we got home after running to another store, he proceeded to tell Jeff about the Fancy Dress and how he wants to buy it and wear it to church. As I was tucking him into bed he told me, "Mom, I want to go to sleep and wake up and get the Fancy Dress." Hmmm. We'll see.

Just tell him..."It sure is pretty huh?, but it's for girls not boys." Let's find you something that handsome boys' wear!"
My question is, does he want to wear the wig, too? What's a fancy dress without a fancy wig to go with it!
I hope you are looking for a King Louis (the what ever number he was). He dressed very fancy. That might be a great Halloween costume.
Now you know why he was so upset about the fabric store the other day - he knew the fancy dress was there but just didn't know where to look. Has Jeff banned you from taking him to the fabric store?
I agree with the first comment. "It's pretty, but not for boys." Poor kid!
Maybe you could make him a shirt out of the fancy material.
