Emily Update
In case anyone was wondering, I thought I would post an update about what we have found out about Emily's medical concerns. She has a condition called Bilateral Reflux, which means that her bladder doesn't keep urine from going back up into her kidneys like it's supposed to. The problem with this is if she gets urinary tract infections it can damage her kidneys. She has grade 3 on a scale of 1 to 5, which means there is a 50% chance the problem will go away. She has to be on antibiotics for the next year and then we have to get her tested every year to see if it has gotten any better or worse. This was pretty good news for us because we were worried she would need to be going to the doctor all the time and that she might have to have surgery, which is still a possibility but only if they can't manage to keep her from getting urinary tract infections. It was nice to kind of get to the end of all the testing and feel like we are finally getting a grasp on what the problem is and what it means for her. It has been a stressful couple of weeks with all the trips to Primary Children's and the stress of worrying about her. I'm looking forward to things hopefully settling down now.

Poor little Emily. I'm glad you guys finally know what's going on. I'm sure it's been very hard, but she'll be ok. Wish I could be there!
You must be so relieved. The stress and sleep deprivation from having a new baby is hard enough, but when the little one is sick and in and out of hospitals, I can't imagine! I'm glad things are looking up, good luck with everything. I'm sorry I can't be there to help out.
It is always such a relief to know what is causing the problems then you can move forward with a plan!
Good luck...Your kids are so cute!
