Keepin' It Real

My friend Maren tagged me to do this post. I had to take pictures of things as they were right at the moment I read that I was tagged, without any cleaning up. Can I just say that you have impeccable timing, Maren?! I had only been home from camping a little over an hour. I had had just enough time to bath the kids, put them to bed, unpack the car, put most of our stuff away and throw in a load of laundry. I was checking up on my email and blogs while I waited for Jeff to take a shower. Let's just say that I'm plotting my revenge, so watch out!!

The Kitchen Sink:
Sorry this picture isn't in focus. Those are Max's and my shoes in the sink, just in case you were wondering!

The Toilet:
Don't ever plan on seeing a picture of this item again until I convince Jeff to let me redo the bathrooms.

The Laundry Room:
I'd like to say it is usually a lot cleaner, but minus the new vent I haven't installed and the bag of DI clothes in the corner, this is pretty much how it always looks.

The Fridge

The Closet:
My side vs. Jeff's side

My Favorite Room:
I've always loved my living room, but unfortunately we don't have any furniture to go in it right now. We did have our family room furniture in there until last week when I finally painted the family room and we moved the couches and TV back to there real home. The car seats and sleeping bags are waiting their turn in the washing machine.

My Favorite Shoes:
I don't know about favorites, but these are the ones I wear the most often.

The Kids:
Max is clutching one of his leftover glow sticks from our camping trip and Emily's not quite asleep yet.

Me:
I saved the best for last. Here I am in all my glory. Four days without a shower and having my hair in a bun or under a hat the entire time. I didn't strictly follow the rules on this one, but I figured I was allowed to put on a robe at least. I'm sure no one wanted to see me in my underwear!

I tag Tiffany, Apreal, and Danielle. I'd say I'm sorry, but now that I've humiliated myself I can't wait to see others be humiliated, too!! ;)

I can't believe you tagged me! In fact, I checked your friend list hoping you had another friend named Tiffany! I don't know if I can do this one or not. You are a better housekeeper than me, and your pictures do not disgrace you or your housekeeping skills in any way. My pictures on the other hand would...

Are you telling me that after only being home from camping for one hour you bathed the kids, put them to bed, unpacked your entire car, put everything away, AND did laundry? I just finished putting things away this morning and still have laundry waiting to be folded. You look pretty good for not having showered for four days!

I like these kinds of tags. If you were to see our fridge, it would be all but empty. Luckily we were able to get everything put away and get some laundry done last night, so our place isn't too messy. Plus we don't have any kids so that helps. Your living room looks great. I can't wait to see it when you guys get furniture in it.

You made it sound like it was going to be a disaster area. Not so. Not so at all. The picture of you was definitely my favorite, though, and I had a good chuckle over it. I will now await my impending doom.

Hey Ade! Your house looks so organized! That's amazing what you can do in an hour with Emily being so little! What's your secret! Well I hope we can get together soon!

Now I'm feeling like it sounds like I was bragging about how much I got done! Jeff was helping me with all that stuff, and I just have a compulsion that I have to unpack right when I get home. Plus, it was over an hour of time, almost an hour and a half. I'm sorry if I made it sound like I was so on top of things, because I'm really not.

I got a kick out of this whole post (and your back-up comment)! I don't know how willing I would be to post pics of my messy house. Your lack of furniture in the front room makes me smile. We are currently up to our fifth hand-me-down couch (each at least as old as me). New and matching furniture is on my Someday list. Thanks for making me smile!

Yeah, I am impressed at the cleanliness too. Even if it did take you an hour and a half you are still way better than me. Brian is the one who likes to unpack everything as soon as we get home. I like to pretend it isn't there so I don't have to deal with it. I had 7 loads of laundry to do the next day.
