The First Snow

Today we woke up to a snow covered world. I love the first snow of the year! I asked Jeff if he would let me wake Max up today. (He normally gets him up on Sundays while I get ready for church.) I brought his stepping stool into his room and opened the blinds for him so that he could look outside and see the beautiful, snow covered yard. He was very excited and kept talking about building a snow man.
After dinner we all bundled up and went for a Sunday walk. I have to admit I was singing Fall's praises to Jeff the whole time even though I was a little cold because I didn't wear a warm enough jacket. When we got home, Max and I drank some yummy hot chocolate to warm up. (Jeff's going without sugar again right now, so he didn't participate.)
For me it was a beautiful, magical day! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures I was so excited about the snow!

I can't read your post on your blog. It is all symbols! But I could read it here. I can't believe you have snow already! I bet Max loved playing in it.

It was a fun day. I'm not ready for full-time winter, but a few days is ok. I love the Fall too. I love the cooler weather and earlier darker evenings. It feels so cozy, to just stay home!

Ellie was excited about the snow too. Last night we were outside and she was all giggles as she tried to catch snowflakes in her mouth. It is fun to experience the world through the eyes of your children. Ditto about fall, but I do think it is getting a bit too cold a bit too fast. I could handle a few more weeks of fall weather without the snow and freezing temps.

It sounds like fall didn't last too long. I hope it comes back and isn't too cold for the next 6 months. If fall is gone for good I guess you have your trip to CA to look forward to and at least you'll know it'll be warmer here than it is there, right?
