Hobbes

Hobbes was one of Max's presents when he turned one. We bought him because Max sometimes reminds us of Calvin from "Calvin and Hobbes". He has never really shown any preference for him over any other stuffed animal until recently. In the last month or so he has become almost as important to Max as his Blankie is (also seen here in a couple of the pictures). First thing in the morning he gets taken out of Max's crib and then gets carted everywhere Max goes for the rest of the day, usually lovingly wrapped up in Blankie. He rides with Max on his tricycles, gets put in Emily's swing and bouncy chair, comes with him to mealtimes, etc. He says goodbye to Hobbes when we leave the house and says, "Hi Hobbes" when he sees him when we get home, and he wants Hobbes to comfort him when he's sad. Hopefully this attachment to Hobbes isn't foretelling of more Calvin like behavior to come! ;)

Nice to meet you Hobbes. Everyone needs a friend like you :)

I guess Max probably won't be quite as willing to share Hobbes with Ellie anymore. We will just have to remember to bring Jessie when we visit so they will each have their own favorite snuggling buddy.

I bet this makes Jeff happy. Isn't he a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan? I am sure you will have plenty of Calvin like moments in the future. It is nice Max will have a buddy to share in all his adventures.

I just couldn't help but smile when I read this. Max looks so cute with Hobbes and I love how he takes him everywhere and makes sure he's well looked after.

Oh that is funny! That's sweet that he's so attached to Hobbes..we know all about blankie-love at our house, but no special animals/babies yet~ Sorry again about last week, how often do you come to play?? We'll get together next time for sure
